My Lover is mine and I am His.

Lord, this be the prayer of my heart,
“I am here, and I will go with you anywhere.”

I’m thankful to discover that a year on, by God’s grace, my heart has not changed.

Sometimes it comes to me to think that if I give up everything of me, I lose all that I have. Yet the kingdom equation would gently remind - if you give all of this world and this life away for My sake, then you will gain all of heaven and of Me. And if less of me means more of You, I’d gladly give all or I’d be a fool.

And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?

I always come to a single conclusion time and again - Jesus is all that I want and need, and He is more than enough for me.

Will it prove true?
Or will you find another lover
Other than you?

I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol,
or let your holy one see corruption.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
